Fuel for Thought

One thing about training is the diet. While i'm not expecting anything other than a personal best timing, i'm going all out to achieve that. And being such a foodie, there's going to be so much good food i'm going to be missing out!

Xia mee! This BBQ Snack Chian bought from Taiwan is absolutely addictive!

Famed chef Angelo's new Restaurant Miette's at Arab Street. It's like nothing you ever tasted, i guarantee. But be warned - it's not cheap either, approx $60 per person.

So no more fine dining, carbo and sweet, heavy stuff.

My lunch for 4 consecutive days.

It's back to eating only when i'm hungry, not having a full stomach and no thick creamy foods. Yong tau fu is my secret weapon; it keeps me satisfied for longer periods of time and gives me a light feeling for my evening runs.

I need to take more fruits. Fruit juices keep me full and makes my 'insides' clean..yeah, i sh*t alot more too.

With two more months to the triathlon, i need to be more disciplined. It's time to step up the training, enforce the diet and eat more fruits... Press on!

Oops, sorry.

Back on Track

I have to admit that i felt a tinge of disappointment when i didn't do a pb on Sunday's PAssion run. But why do we fall? So we can learn to pick ourselves up. Two days on, i'm on my way back on a healthy diet and regular exercise; all for August's OSIM International Triathlon.

After a short rest and dinner after work today, the best way to end the day is with a run. I ran without music today, just focusing on today's daily devotional and hoping to clock below 55 minutes for my usual 8 laps (approx 10k) around my house.

Started off bad. I was in the 'grouchy' mood - my legs felt like lead, my body was falling asleep and don't you experience days when it was more convenient to just sleep, watch tv and say, 'never mind, i can always exercise tomorrow'?

It was one of those days.

But hey, somehow, by God's good graces...

I made it under 55 minutes. By 1 second.

Thank God. It's the little achievements like this that gets me pumped up for more.

Let's Go.

Life is simple - work, eat, sleep, swim, run and cycle.

This blog is dedicated to the sport that sets me free. I'm not a world champion, and i may never be, but since i started doing this, just over a year ago, i cannot stop.

I hope to share all my experiences, specifically the things i will be going through, as i keep swimming, cycling and running. And if i can inspire anyone out there, this blog would have served its purpose.

And if you want to join me, please do. Come, run this race with me!

Cheers,
Mike
